Looking for a little Ducati or vintage Ducati history?
Look no further than the amazing collection of vintage Ducatis under a tent in the infield.Ducati is the featured marque of the year at VMD, and every stage of the company’s history is represented. It’s all here, from a 1946 vintage ducati bicycle with a 50cc clip-on motor made by the company when Italy was rebuilding after World War II, to the technological tour de force of Ducati’s newest Desmosedici MotoGP machine.
Looking at these machines, it’s easy to appreciate the passion that the Italian company inspires through its timeless designs and trademark desmo engines with separate cams to open and close the overhead valves.Smith says the collection of 70 bikes from 27 owners is the first time that every significant Ducati vintage model has been together in one place—anywhere in the world.“The neat thing about it,” says Vicki Smith, who pulled together the massive display from across the country, “is that when you stand here, it’s like you’re in the holy desmodromic church.”
That’s easy to believe. Over here, the ’46 Cucciolo clip-on bicycle motor is the oldest Ducati engine in America. Over there is the California Hot Rod, the vintage machine that gave Ducati its first AMA Superbike win in the hands of Cook Neilson at Daytona in 1977.“Most places are lucky to have even one Gran Sport,” Smith says. “We have two”— a 1955 100 Gran Sport production racer, the first Ducati vintage designed by Fabio Taglioni, whose name would become synonymous with the marque, and a 1957 125 Gran Sport.
In between are bikes like the Mike Hailwood replica, named for the rider who gave Ducati its famed victories at the Isle of Man, Neil Hodgson’s Superbike and the Multistrada used by Gary Eagan to set the Prudhoe-Bay-to-Key-West record of 4 days and 5 hours.
To be contined Vintage Ducati …

Vintage Ford. Ford this era. This is a whole page in the book of life of our civilization. Vintage ford not just memories. Vintage ford a mixture of feelings, and even smell something dark from our childhood. We can be excerpts from old movies. Maybe pages of old magazines. Vintage ford truck – road and the sun. Vintage ford tractor – corn and summer. Vintage ford mustang-fine men and women in lacquer shoes. Vintage ford bronco – Fall Chicago, hats and cigars. Each of their association with vintage ford. I can forms and travels. Childhood, when every trip with the parents seemed exciting adventure.
Remember childhood? Transistors young receivers in leather sheath. Setting up the radio with a small wheel. Flat battery at 9 volts. And the smell! A mixture of leather, plastic and dust. This photo of vintage radio for boys. Vintage transistor radio “Glorya “.
A “Boy’s Radio” with a girl’s name… Note that snazzy grill! What isn’t visible here is the black/white contrast between the cabinet’s back and front halves, very nice. Gloria’s sweet little box . Included with the vintage radio is a clear vinyl carrying case. 6 transistors, 1 battery and more vintage fun. This radio without vintage clock.
I like vintage transistor radio. I love vintage radio. Neither television nor the Internet is not forcing the heart to beat faster. Vintage radio is our childhood. The radio on the table belonged to adults. And I had a little transistor radio. Not like in the picture, but very similar.
And you had in childhood transistor radio?
